@Bakery

November 26, 2024

Welcome back to another review by the Phuket Lovin team. We’re working through hundreds of Phuket bars, restaurants, and cafes to share our favorite experiences with you.    If you’re looking for inspiration on where to go next, you’ve come to the right place! The next place to add to your Phuket itinerary is @Bakery. Read on for everything you need to know about this classic venue.

Welcome to @Bakery

@Bakery is located in the South of Phuket, between Chalong and Rawai beach. The full address is 1/29, Rawai, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket, 83130 (Google maps link here).    Once you’ve turned right at the intersection on Wiset road, you’ll see a large ‘@bakery’ sign and a barbershop next door. There’s plenty of parking, and the bakery is open from 07:00-17:30 every day except Thursday.

Why We Love @Bakery

Our first impression of @bakery was that it was cozy and friendly, and of course, the smell of freshly baked bread was heavenly. The bakery is decorated with various house plants and jungle climbers, creating a homey atmosphere. The staff are lovely and kind and always serve you with a friendly smile.  However, our favorite part of @bakery was the delights they had behind the counter. We found every kind of bread, pastry, and cake we could wish for. All were freshly made and warm from the oven.

Drinking and Dining at @Bakery

The cafe area is divided into two separate rooms, with outside seating among the plants. It’s as suitable for eating in, as it is for takeaway. They have a menu with traditional dishes to order from, or you can request a simple pastry or loaf of bread to take home.    If you want to save money and eat like a local, this is the place to be. The prices are a fraction of what you’d expect a similar product to cost in the Western world.    For example:

  • Fresh baguette (20 baht)
  • Cinnamon Swirl (50 baht)
  • Chocolate Croissant (50 baht)

If you want a large loaf of bread to take home, it’ll cost you around 80-100 baht. We indulged in some croissants with coffee, and they did not disappoint. It was like a taste of home, but in the beautiful setting of Thailand.

Remote Working at @Bakery

@Bakery is suitable for remote working, but it’s not a hotspot. There is AC, plug sockets, and wifi for those that need it. However, it’s got more of a family vibe than a remote working space. Most of the customers are Thai locals, and there are a few westerners.    If @Bakery is on your doorstep, it’s worth considering working there and enjoying freshly made pastries and coffee. But, you’ll need to concentrate well because the bakery has high footfall due to their popular takeaway options.

Nightlife and Events at @Bakery

@Bakery closes at 17:30 each day; there is no nightlife or event scene (it is a bakery, after all!). However, they sometimes run ‘happy hours’ or promotions where you can grab a bargain.    You can keep up to date with @Bakery on their Facebook page or pop in and ask them about their services!

@Bakery: a Phuket Cafe that Tastes Like Home

Fresh bread, pastries, and coffee – what more could you ask for? This was, without a doubt, one of our favorite Phuket bakery experiences.  Finding good quality bread in supermarkets in Phuket can be a struggle, but @Bakery is sure to have something to your flavor preference! The produce is always fresh, a great bargain, and served with a smile.    How’s your Phuket itinerary coming along?
