Welcome back to Phuket Lovin, your local guide. We’ve spent this week visiting all the local cafes and restaurants in Rawai and Chalong. Safe to say, we’re full of cake and coffee!
Some experiences were better than others, but we’re only here to write about the good ones and promote local businesses where we think credit is due. We aren’t sponsored or paid by restaurants for these articles – we simply provide honest and genuine reviews for other travelers and tourists.
The next cafe you need to know about is called Hom•mes.
Welcome to Hom•mes
Hom•mes is in the North of Rawai, close to Chalong. You can find it at 145 Soi Suksan 1, Rawai, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83130 (Google Maps link here).
When you see the sign for ‘Tamarind Villa Phuket,’ turn left and walk to the end of the alley. There, you’ll find the Hom•mes cafe. They are open daily from 08:00-17:00.
Why We Love Hom•mes
Hom•mes is a great little cafe; it’s slightly off the beaten track, so it’s not too crowded, but they certainly have many loyal customers. The cafe is cozy and chill; perfect for family gatherings, dates, or working.
The cafe interior is modern, stylish, and clean, and they’ve made great use of the available space. They have both indoor and outside seating areas, with various wooden chairs, armchairs, and large comfy sofas.
During our visit, most of the other customers were tourists coming in pairs or families for lunch and coffee. There were very few Thai customers.
We instantly felt at home in this cozy and relaxed environment, and the staff were attentive and happy to help with any requests.
Drinking and Dining at Hom•mes
Cafe provide delicious breakfast and brunch-style foods and drinks at very reasonable prices. We ordered:
- Madagascar Vanilla Affogato (95 baht)
- Tamarind with Chilli (85 baht)
- Chicken Massaman Curry with Jasmine Rice (115 baht)
- Strawberry Sundae Croffle (165 baht)
This was more than enough hearty food for us, but if you’re feeling snack-ish, they have a cabinet with more cakes and pastries than you could ever wish for.
The cafe also have a wide selection of homemade drinks and coffees.
The coffee is exceptional and perfect with a pastry. Although the sign on the door mentions their espresso, we wanted to branch out a little – it’s impossible to describe the deliciousness of the Madagascar Vanilla Affogato (you’ll have to try it yourself!).
Remote Working at Hom•mes
Hom•mes is suitable for remote working; a few people were typing on laptops during our visit and looked very comfortable working in this environment.
If you want to work in Hom•mes, you’ll have Wifi, AC, and plug sockets dotted around.
