Welcome to Chillva Market 

Chillva Market is just one of several markets on the island; it’s located just north of Phuket town and opens each evening from 17:00-23:00 (closed on Sundays).

You’ll find Chillva opposite Samkong Municipal School. The full address is Chillva Market, Ratsada, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83000 (Google Maps link here). 

There is parking for cars and mopeds, but it can get busy; it’s usually easier to jump in a taxi or TukTuk to visit the market. 

The Chillva Market Experience 

As you walk into the market from the parking lot, you’ll enter the ‘Park Zone.’ This is a new addition, and it’s what makes Chillva stand out from other Phuket markets. You’re immersed in a tropical paradise with trees, ferns, mosses, streams, rocks, and a small waterfall! This zone encapsulated ‘forest fairy tale’ vibes, with mists circulated throughout. 

After exploring the Park Zone, you come to the main market space; this is an open zone called ‘Chillva Retro.’ As the name suggests, it is pretty retro! You can enjoy all the traditional types of market stalls with traditional clothes and souvenirs. Amidst the stalls is a large windmill, a few cafes, and massage parlors. 

Shop, eat, relax, and take photos in the retro market area before venturing into the final zone. The last area is a two-story wooden building filled with more restaurants and clothing stalls. 

When you reach the top, you can step out onto the rooftop and appreciate views of the entire market and beyond – there is beautiful lighting all around, and people come to this market for the views alone. 

In our eyes, Chillva Market is different from traditional markets because it provides an entire experience, not just shopping. Enjoy the atmosphere, eat dinner, shop, and go to the market viewpoint. You’ll leave Chillva with a new appreciation for how markets can be done right!
