Welcome back to another Phuket Lovin cafe review. Nothing beats a local cafe that serves excellent cake and coffee; this next venue delivers on both fronts!
We visited a new find, Cafe Hil, and we were not disappointed. Now, we’re sharing all the best things about Cafe Hill with you so that you can add it to your Phuket itinerary.
Read on if you love homely venues, great coffee, and homemade bakery items.
Welcome to Cafe Hill
Aptly named, Cafe Hill is located on the hill between Kata and Rawai, near Karon Viewpoint.
The full address is 287 ม.2 ถนน โคกโตนด Karon, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83100, Thailand (Google Maps Link Here).
They’re open daily from 08:00-18:00 and serve various drinks, dishes, and bakery items.
Cafe Hill is next to the Kokchang Elephant Safari – you can see the elephants from the road and visit if you wish. Many people visit Cafe Hill in conjunction with seeing the elephants. They offer feeding, bathing, and trekking (you can learn more about elephants in Phuket here). (INTERNAL LINK TO ARTICLE ABOUT ELEPHANTS)
Why We Love Cafe Hill
The atmosphere inside Cafe Hill is warm, welcoming, and you feel at one with the surrounding nature. This quaint cafe was built and decorated by the owner, who had an incredible vision for his business. It has an authentic and vintage appeal to it.
If you’re new here, you may not know about our enthusiasm for good coffee (as a team of digital nomads, we consider high-quality coffee a daily essential!). The coffee set-up makes Cafe Hill stand out from other Phuket Cafes.
The beans are imported straight from Chiang Rai and there is a self-serve coffee station where you can drip the coffee yourself (perfect for coffee enthusiasts). Thanks to the Northern Thailand beans, the coffee blends taste noticeably better than many others used in Phuket.
A tip for Phuket newbies – the Thai’s like their coffees sweet. It’s not uncommon for staff to add a small jug of syrup to a standard coffee order. Simply saying ‘no sugar’ will save you the hassle of having to return a drink if you don’t want a sweet coffee.
Drinking and Dining at Cafe Hill
The restaurant has spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas. Comfort is a priority; you can choose seats or sofas for your visit. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an excellent spot for children, families, and couples.
The food and drink options are also inclusive to most groups; they have a wide range of soft drinks, alcohol, food dishes, coffees, and homemade bakery items.
The prices at the restaurant are very reasonable, and the products taste great! We treated ourselves to:
- Espresso on the rocks (65 baht)
- Crab Sandwich (230 baht)
- Strawberry Cheesecake (120 baht)
All our food was delicious, served with a smile, and we felt welcome to stay as long as we liked.
Remote Working at Cafe Hill
The restaurant is the perfect place for remote working. The atmosphere is chilled and not too loud or busy. You have free WiFi, plenty of space, AC, and plug sockets.
However, the main reason it makes a great Phuket workspace is the coffee and snacking potential! Freshly baked croissants and strong espresso shots are the dream for powering through a long day on the laptop.
Keeping Up to Date With Cafe Hill
Cafe Hill is active on Facebook and Instagram. They usually post updates about menu changes, new coffee blends, and bakery items. Follow them online, and your mouth will be watering instantly!
If you have a large group planning to visit, message the owner and he’ll be happy to reserve you a table.
Cafe Hill: Sweet Treats, Coffee, and Comfort
With the venue being slightly out of the way, we hadn’t ventured to the restaurant before – we wish we had earlier! We loved the vibes, homely atmosphere, and of course, the coffee.
If you’re looking for a Phuket cafe with nature views, you’ll love Cafe Hill. And, if you ride a moped, you’ll love the drive even more!
We recommend stopping at Cafe Hill next time you’re in the area. Why not tie it in with a trip to the nearby viewpoint or safari?
