Are you looking to broaden your Phuket restaurant experiences? At Phuket Lovin, we’ve tried and tested various venues, and now we’re sharing all the best places for you to grab a bite to eat.
Phuket island has a lot to offer, from street food to fine dining – so much so, that it can feel impossible to choose. Fortunately, we’re narrowing down your list for you, and we think we’ve found a winner here.
Cafe Gabi is a peaceful, clean, and eco-conscious cafe. And, best of all, it serves Korean food.
Welcome to Cafe Gabi
Cafe Gabi is located opposite Chalong Temple; the address is 83130 Chang Wat Phuket, Mueang Phuket District, Chalong, Chaofa East Road (Google Maps link here).
They are open daily from 06:30-17:00, and it’s the perfect place to visit before or after a trip to the magnificent Chalong Temple.
Why We Love Cafe Gabi
From the exterior, Cafe Gabi looks similar to most Phuket restaurants. However, step inside, and it’s like entering a new world. The interior has a modern design, a pale color scheme with wooden furniture, minimalist shelves, and quotes on the walls. To top it off, there are gorgeous green plants and cacti throughout. To us, it seemed reminiscent of an IKEA showroom.
From the moment we stepped into the cafe it felt relaxed and homely; it’s perfect for families, couples, and workers. It’s a spacious venue that spans two floors, with large tables and sofas. They even have board games available and bookshelves with books in English, Thai, and Korean.
We loved the eco-friendly vibe in this Cafe as this is rare to find in this part of the world. They state that they are a “zero waste shop” and encourage customers to bring their own cups to avoid using single-use plastic. They use paper straws, glass jars, and reusable containers.
Drinking and Dining at Cafe Gabi
Cafe Gabi has their own professional Korean chef who prepares each of the dishes from scratch. The menu was relatively small (this is rare for Phuket – you’ll usually find the menus cover everything from garden salads to lobster!). However, with such a dedicated chef, we knew we were in safe hands as he could put 100% effort into making every dish delicious.
He recommended his signature dish, ‘Gabi Gimbap,’ which was award-worthy. Our complete order was:
- Passion Fruit Soda (80 baht)
- Gabi Gimbap (120 baht)
- K-Ramen (80 baht)
As well as their Korean food menu, they also have a wide selection of drinks, coffees, and desserts.
Remote Working at Cafe Gabi
Cafe Gabi is the perfect place for remote work if you don’t mind solitude. You won’t find a community of digital nomads here, but the atmosphere is ideal for getting work done.
There is plenty of space, some tables have a desk-like set-up, and an upstairs room can be used as a private area for meetings. Of course, there is AC, free Wifi, and plug sockets.
The chilled-out vibes and spacious areas make it an inviting place to spend the day, sipping on smoothies and working without disturbances and distractions.
Keeping Up to Date With Cafe Gabi
Cafe Gabi has a fantastic venue and food aesthetic, which they proudly display on their Instagram page. If you follow them on Instagram, you’ll see that they often run promotions and discounts on certain dishes.
You can also contact them on Facebook if you have any questions or would like to make a booking.
