A Blanket and a Pillow is a cafe, bar, and restaurant located on the South West coast of Phuket. It’s slightly off the beaten track, but it’s accessible on foot, bike, or car.

Why We Love a Blanket and a Pillow 

After spending a year in Phuket, we really thought we’d seen it all. Ocean views and miraculous sunsets were nothing new. But, a Blanket and a Pillow truly was a hidden oasis with something for everyone. 

On approaching the venue, we first noticed that it’s filled with various spaces for chilling, drinking, eating, or working. Whether you feel like a typical table and chairs, barstools, hammocks, or beanbags, the choice is yours.

Walking into a Blanket and a Pillow, we were swiftly greeted by enthusiastic staff. It’s a family-owned and operated business; the friendly and welcoming atmosphere shows as much.

We ordered our drinks and headed over to the shaded beanbag area for a sea view under a shady canopy of trees. It was only then that we began to appreciate the true wonders of this beach bar in Phuket. 

Carefully constructed wooden paths lead us right from the bar down to the sea. On the descent to the ocean, there are many wooden platforms on which visitors can sit on beanbags or swings and chill with a peaceful ocean view. Some of these platforms are even equipped for picturesque camping with bell tents and hammocks.

We perched on one of the mid-size platforms halfway between the restaurant and the sea and enjoyed a few drinks and a sharing food platter. Between the quality of the food, the views, and the atmosphere, a Blanket and a Pillow is unmissable. 

Drinking and Dining at a Blanket and a Pillow

We first thought that a Blanket and a Pillow was more of a bar than a restaurant, so we were pleasantly surprised by the versatility of their menu. We could choose from a mix of authentic Thai and international dishes, snacks, and sharing platters.

Our food and drinks were delivered quickly and were with a smile. The price point was slightly higher – although not significantly – than other Phuket bars, but we were happy to pay for the stunning location and delicious freshly cooked cuisine.

Remote Working at Blanket and a Pillow

Now, a brief section for the digital nomads of Phuket. You’ll be pleased to know there are shaded areas, AC, Wifi, and plug sockets. 

Tuesday to Friday, don’t be surprised to see fellow digital nomads sipping on iced coffee while using this inspirational location as their office. If you’re a content creator, you’ll also be pleased to know it’s one of the most Instagrammable spots we’ve found in Phuket so far. 

Nightlife and Events at a Blanket and a Pillow 

If you’re looking for a cafe, restaurant, bar, and club all rolled into one, a Blanket and a Pillow is the place to be. This daytime oasis of calm and beauty transforms into one of the best nights out in Phuket on a Saturday evening – you’ll party with fun-loving travelers, ex-pats, and locals. 

Descend the steps right down to sea level, and it opens out into a spacious yet intimate arena. Drink and dance the night away at their weekly event, ‘Jungle Stereo’ in this exclusive oceanside location.

Although Jungle Stereo is their famed night, you can contact them if you want to hire the space for a personal event. From weddings to birthdays, this family-owned business will accommodate your every need.
